The natural amphitheatre complex constituted by the mountain peaks of Tondarecar, Castelgomberto, Fior, Spil and Miela that surround the small malga Lora, in June 1916 and in November 1917 was theatre of one of the bloodiest battles ever fought on the Highlands of Asiago during the whole unrolling of the conflict, as testified by the numerous gravestones and monuments present in the area and the remains of the military cemetery of malga Lora.
Of great interest is the visit to the complex system of trenches made on the summit of the mountain ranges by the Italian troops between the summer of '16 and the fall of '17 and in particular of the cavern positions obtained from the inside of the rock "crowns" that delimit the solid mass.
The area is overall easily accessible through the numerous Cai indicated trails and most of all thanks to the two carriage roads coming respectively from Campomulo valley and from Gadena valley which make it possible to reach the malga Slapeur and Lora without much discomfort, privileged staring points for the excursions on the Melette.
The visit on the these grounds also allows to be able to travel once again through the places immortalized by Paolo Monelli in the suggestive route in which history and literature meet in a natural scenery of incomparable beauty.
