The protection and promotion of this asset is presented here through the Ecomuseo of the Great War of the Vicentine Pre-Alps; which is a museum on the environment and on mankind in which the analysis and the interpretation of the dramatic events that took place acquire sense only in relation to the interpretation of this extraordinary historical territory.

The general project's objective is to pursue a "memory association" that aims at recuperating, even before the material remains, the testimony of the facts. A "light" approach aimed at preserving and making readable what remains of the works created by the belligerent armies during the Great War and organizing the specificities and the potentialities present on the territory. The acknowledgment that the diversity of these places is an irreproducible heritage and that the disappearance of the works contained in them would represent an irreparable loss, not only to the memory of the Great War, but also for the very same identity of the territories that contain them.

Thus obtaining a historical promotion of the territory, that on one side would accompany an overall environmental requalification of the sites and on the other, accompany a general program of promotion and communication structured on an integrated system of informative centers dislocated on the territory.

The organizational proposal of an Ecomuseo of the Great War of the Vicentine Pre-Alps is the initiative that best represents the institution that will have to deal with the research, conservation and promotion of the memory related to the Great War of the Upper Vicentine territories.
